Peru
The plantation lies in the northern Peruvian Andes, in the Jaén district of the Cajamarca region, where a high-mountain climate, mineral-rich volcanic soil and tropical rainfall create exceptional conditions for growing coffee. The surrounding farms have been tended by the same families for generations, and they turn out an outstanding harvest every year. For the growers here, sustainability and working as a community matter as much as quality, so they share their knowledge and experience with one another — making sure every lot reflects what is particular to the region as clearly as it can. · Cajamarca · Cajamarca

About this lot
In northern Peru most coffee is organic, simply because there was never money for pesticides. A rounded, caramel-led cup that does not ask too much of you at seven in the morning.
We buy small lots and roast them in batches we can taste all the way through. Every bag carries its roast date — not a best-before, because coffee does not spoil, it only loses its best.
